Our Story

CUPE Local 7797 was formed in 2016 by the merger of Locals 4308 and 3202, due to the merger of the two agencies where they represented the workers, Central Neighbourhood House (CNH) and Neighbourhood Link (NL) respectively. We are 600 members strong.

Local 4308 also represented at the time workers at SPRINT Senior Services, Street Health, and PASAN.  The new Local incorporated all 3, in addition to the newly formed agency emanating from the merger of CNH and NL, called The Neighbourhood Group (TNG).

CUPE  7797 has since incorporated workers at Cast For Kids daycare, who are newly organized and negotiating their first agreement.

Our members provide a variety of services, bridging the Health and Social Services sectors of CUPE: serving seniors, newcomers, youth and the homeless, providing daycare, employment services, Adult Day programs, In-Home services, to name a few.

Since our formation we have negotiated agreements for Sprint, Street Health, PASAN, and a first agreement for TNG, ratified in May 2019.
